(Asian News Hub) – An Army MI-17 helicopter crashed on Wednesday in the forests of Kannur in Tamil Nadu. After this accident in the dense forests, the helicopter caught fire.
In this, 14 officers, including Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika, were on board. So far, four bodies have been recovered, which are badly burnt.
About an hour after the accident, it was informed that General Rawat had been taken to the hospital, although no official statement had been issued about his condition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been informed about this accident.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will make a statement in Parliament about the accident in a while. General Bipin Rawat served as the Chief of Army Staff from 31 December 2016 to 31 December 2019. He took over as the Chief of Defense Staff on 1 January 2020.
